Flossie Wright left the ward, returning to the Base with Becca Reyes who had been waiting outside.
In Flossie’s view, Stuart Weston’s current situation was a classic case of self-inflicted woes.
It was just that Calvin Ramos’s image was so deeply ingrained, and now he was still behaving recklessly in front of him...
It was clearly a death wish.
Back at the Base, Flossie went to the Shooting Range to practice a few rounds of shooting, while Becca Reyes, feeling listless, wandered aimlessly around the playground and then absentmindedly made her way to the beach.
Yet, even she hadn’t expected to encounter Daniel Ramos there.
Daniel Ramos had just come out of the sea, and with his shirt removed, his robust chest was exposed, basking in the soft afternoon sunlight. Droplets of water trickled down, and his sharply contoured face was hidden in the shadows, obscuring the cold expression.
Gazing at him in a daze, Becca Reyes was quite bewildered.
She had only looked at him twice when Daniel Ramos noticed her, his lips curving into a wicked smile as he strode in her direction.
"What a coincidence."
Standing two or three meters away, Daniel Ramos’s eyes danced with alluring mirth as he casually greeted her.
After a pause, the expression on Becca Reyes’s face grew cold, and she turned to head back the way she came.
She had only taken two steps when Hayden Scott reached her from behind, seizing her shoulder firmly with his hand.
The force was so great that it made Becca Reyes wince in pain.
"Calvin, Ramos."
Voice tense, Becca Reyes called out his name over her shoulder with a cold voice.
Raising an eyebrow unhesitatingly, Calvin Ramos slowly withdrew his hand, his lips still curled in a smile, "That’s me."

"Ha," Becca Reyes scoffed, turning to face him, "You’re so unrestrained. Aren’t you afraid I’ll report your behavior?"
"If you were going to report me, would you wait until now?"
Such threats were of no concern to Calvin Ramos.
"Where is he?"
Her gaze flickering slightly, Becca Reyes changed the subject, asking him.
Putting one hand back into his pocket, Calvin Ramos smiled, responding with a question of his own, "If I disappeared and he came back, would you still choose him?"
Without hesitation, Becca Reyes answered coldly.
Whether Calvin Ramos returned or not, she had no further thoughts about it.
She had once invested all her girlish hopes in Calvin Ramos, but the unexpected emergence of Daniel Ramos had become an obstacle for them both. Now that all the misunderstandings had been cleared up, Becca Reyes didn’t want to seek reconciliation.
Some things, once occurred, cannot be undone.
And, she also clearly understood that she was not worthy of Calvin Ramos.
"So you’re still holding onto the hope of him coming back?" Daniel Ramos asked with scornful amusement.
Becca Reyes was momentarily at a loss for words.
"Woman," he spoke softly, with a low chuckle, "Ha."
"Daniel Ramos," Becca Reyes’s tone raised slightly as a surge of anger gathered within her. She suddenly stepped forward, slightly looking up at Daniel Ramos, and with each word piercingly clear, "The man I know is him, not you. Do I hold onto the hope of him coming back or hope that you stay here causing trouble for others?"
What was wrong with wanting Calvin Ramos to come back?!
She bore no grudge against Calvin Ramos, and likely anyone who knew him wouldn’t want Daniel Ramos to appear.
A flicker of malice flashed in his eyes as Daniel Ramos’s expression turned icy. Raising his hand, he grasped Becca Reyes’s throat tightly, the ferocity in his eyes suddenly erupting with a wild rage.
Staring at her intently, Daniel Ramos spoke deliberately, his tone dangerous and icy, "Do you know who you are talking to?"
