Flossie Wright had a hint of a smile in her eyes, "Your strategic provocation worked well. I’ll talk to the Captain about using it more in the future."
"Going along with it?" Dallion Collins sensed something was off.
To be honest, Flossie couldn’t just now think of "settling scores later." Right now, she could even shamelessly bring out the Captain’s name...
Rather, she had already figured it out, conveniently helped him out, then grabbed a handle to threaten her.
Dallion, who always prided himself on being clever, realized this and felt a bit of a headache.
He got played!
"Saying it like that ruins the mood." Flossie spoke leisurely, her expression relaxed, yet not at all as if she was speaking the truth.
"My bad." Dallion continued along with her words very insincerely.
Flossie glanced at him and chuckled lightly, "A deal?"
"You talk." Dallion had no room to argue.
Everyone knew Glenn Hutchinson was crazy about protecting his wife. Usually, Flossie didn’t bring him up, but once his name was mentioned, there were hardly any in Aaron Base who dared go against Flossie.
Who said Glenn was willing to back her up?
"In a few days, it’s time for your annual first-round elimination..." Flossie casually stated the major premise.
"Get to the point." Dallion resignedly interrupted her.
Flossie took a step closer to him, her gaze sweeping over the row of people shooting, then pausing briefly on Nancy Phillips’ back. She curled her lips, her cool voice accompanied by the cold wind.
"Add a segment."
Flossie articulated slowly.
Dallion raised an eyebrow.
Flossie smiled slightly.
Dallion immediately understood the implied meaning —
Act privately, without letting others know.
After a moment of thought, Dallion nodded, "You say."
Flossie then spoke a few sentences in a low voice.
Without much consideration, Dallion straightforwardly agreed.
Flossie kindly extended her hand to him.
Dallion reached out and shook it.
The deal was made.
The weather was truly cold. While they were shooting, Flossie took the opportunity to run a couple of laps around the Training Ground to warm up. By the time she returned, almost everyone had gone through once.
A third of them were held back, punished to run and then restart the shooting.
Holding a whistle, Flossie blew a few times to gather the team, guiding the qualified trainees to the field to complete today’s final running laps.
The sky darkened quickly.
Before five, the sky was already gradually dimming. As Flossie was observing the trainees’ running from outside the track, Glenn Hutchinson unexpectedly took a stroll over.
Officially, he came to see the trainees, but in reality, he came to see Flossie.
"Have some warm water."
Without even glancing at the trainees, Glenn went straight to Flossie’s side, handing her the thermos he had specially brought.
"Mm." Flossie didn’t stand on ceremony, directly taking the thermos.
Unscrewed the lid and took a sip of the freshly brewed warm tea.
"Where’s Joshua Bailey?" Not seeing Joshua around, Glenn frowned and asked Flossie.
Flossie took another sip of tea, holding the thermos with both hands for warmth.
This damn weather, just standing there doing nothing really could turn one into a popsicle.
"You should head back." Glenn said with a stern face.
"No need," Flossie replied nonchalantly, "I’ll watch a bit longer."
As soon as she finished speaking, she felt the surrounding temperature drop several degrees.
Flossie’s gaze on the track slowly receded, turning to the overwhelming presence of Glenn.
Glenn frowned, his expression not looking too good.
"I’ll go for a cross-country run," Flossie handed the thermos back to Glenn, squinting her eyes slightly, "I’ll leave this to you."
Without giving Glenn any chance to speak, Flossie finished and intended to head towards the mountain.
Glenn’s eyebrow twitched, and he reached out to grab Flossie’s collar, forcibly pulling her back.
Once she was in his embrace, Glenn seized her ice-cold hands. With nowhere to channel his frustration, his voice softened a lot, "It’s already dark, why run, go back and warm up."
"I want to train."
Flossie shrugged.
"Not in such a short time." Glenn retorted dissatisfied.
Flossie tried to find a more suitable reason.
However, Glenn was a step ahead, calling someone to fetch Joshua, and then directly took Flossie back.
Incidentally —
He informed Flossie of her new Dormitory.
"Am I staying with you?"
Inside the Office, hearing Glenn’s words clearly, Flossie’s mouth twitched hard.
