"What do you want to eat?"
Before Flossie Wright could finish her sentence, a cry of shock resounded from the next table, followed by the sound of a porcelain bowl dropping.
Flossie noticed the splashing porridge and instinctively tried to dodge, but the confined corner was too small to completely avoid it, and her shoes suffered a considerable splash.
Looking closely—
A girl in an apricot was sprawled on the ground. She looked about twenty so, with slightly rounded face, clear eyebrows and attractive eyes, which gave her a somewhat cute look. Presently, however, her face was a mask of pain.
The porcelain bowl was broken into halves; porridge was spilled all over the ground, splashing around, with two fried dough strips lying nearby.
It was raining outside, and pedestrians brought water in, making the floor slippery. Under such circumstances, a fall was inevitable.
Her fall was rather severe this time.
With both hands on the ground, the girl tried hard to stand up. However, as soon as she had risen halfway, the tip of her supporting foot slipped again, and she fell heavily back onto the ground.
Upon seeing this, Flossie frowned.
The girl was on the verge of tears from pain.
After a thoughtful pause, Flossie extended her hand to the girl.
Hearing the noise, the girl lifted her head slightly, catching a glimpse of Flossie in the deep defiant eyes. She then lowered her gaze.
Subsequently, she stubbornly pushed herself up from the ground and stood on her own.
Raising her eyebrows, Flossie pulled her hand back.
It was just a gesture of goodwill. As the other party was unwilling, she treated it as unnecessary.
Perry Reed was not pleased.
"Clean her shoes."
His tone was ice-cold and dangerous, resounding with a deep and husky voice. Each word and sentence was piercing cold, chilling to the bone.
The girl shuddered.
She was trembling.

Horrible bruising from the fall had made her white apron dirty; her pink-knit sweater sleeve was stained black, her knees were much worse, with apparent blood seeping through the jeans.
She looked pathetic.
After a while, the girl took a step back, not daring to look directly at Perry, but instead directed her gaze towards Flossie.
Unwilling, embarrassed, angry, resentful.
"Why, why should I?"
While tightly gripping herself, she shot a vicious glance at Flossie.
Clearly scared but pretending to be calm.
This was her family’s place, she had some confidence, she had the audacity to close it regularly, she would definitely not admit defeat.
Meanwhile, whispers could be heard from the other tables.
"Only the shoes were dirtied, was this necessary..."
"Two people, bullying a young girl, tut-tut, what has the world come to."
"I saw it, the one splashed actually offered help, but that girl didn’t appreciate it."
Out of the seven tables, six were filled. The crowd was whispering, but most of them were silently staring, their gazes mostly fixed on the three.
Gold Chain, sitting by an empty table, glanced calmly at them but didn’t make any move.
A physically weak girl was nothing to Sliver, he could crush her with one finger.
Near the window, raindrops hit the window, each drop fell and accumulated, leaving strings of rain-lattice.
Vaguely bored, Flossie glanced outside the window and leaned back in her chair, ignoring the girl’s resentment.
Just a bit of porridge, she didn’t make a big deal about it.
That attitude...
was definitely irritating.
Receiving some scolding, didn’t matter much.
Squinting his eyes, Perry Reed leaned back slightly, his black eyes plummeted ominously, focussing on the girl. His thin lips parted slightly, "Won’t clean?"
