In a daze, Willie Ash asked a question.
After a while, someone answered him, "Just checking the wounded, seeing if there’s anything we need to assist with."
He responded and then fell silent.
Exhausted, with bodies aching all over and physical strength depleted to its limit, they truly couldn’t muster the energy to speak.
It’s always the capable who do the most work. Only those at their level, like the captain, could quickly gather the resources needed.
"Captain, take care on your way..."
Upon leaving the tent, faintly still able to hear the doctor’s voice, Glenn Hutchinson paused his steps, flashlight in hand, intending to head back.
However, a rest was out of the question.
"Over here..."
From a distance, a somewhat familiar voice could be heard. Glenn Hutchinson stopped in his tracks, his flashlight sweeping towards the direction of the incoming people.
Three people.
The first person he saw leading the way was Patrick Morrison.
Behind him was a man, who was carrying another person in his arms.
The flashlight was almost out of power, casting a relatively dim light, but even from afar, Glenn caught a glimpse of the man.
A white shirt that had long been soaked through, black pants blending into the dark night.
In his arms, it seemed to be a woman, wearing a trench coat that didn’t match her. She was thin, tucked into the man’s arms, revealing soft, short hair, and a faintly visible side profile.
There was an abrupt sense of familiarity.
For no apparent reason, Glenn paused, taking a second look.
A sharp and dangerous gaze precisely landed on him.
He raised his brows, fixed his eyes, and looked up, meeting a pair of dark, profound eyes.
Full of killer intent.
In the distance.
Feeling the light beam directed at her, Flossie clutched the front of Perry Reed’s shirt and squinted in that direction.
It was very bright against the light, extremely dazzling when it fell on her eyes.
She could barely make out a towering figure in the distance.
It wasn’t clear.
So, Flossie turned her head away, withdrawing her gaze.
But as soon as she raised her eyes, she froze.
Looking up, she could see the chin and side profile of Perry Reed.
It was cold.
Perry Reed’s face was devoid of emotion, the dim light making it hard to see traces of rain on his face, but the emotionless side profile that came into view, those deep eyes, brought a piercing chill.
What the hell is going on?
Just as she was wondering, she heard Patrick Morrison yell from ahead -
"Captain Hutchinson!"
She was taken aback.
She turned her head and looked again at the figure in the distance, tall and erect, a vague familiarity hidden in the darkness.
Grabbing the fabric of his shirt, Flossie felt a chill in her heart and whispered to Perry Reed.
Dropping his gaze to her for a moment, Perry Reed did not stop, and he strode forward.
"He knows you!"
Her voice lowered, Flossie struggled to find words as her throat started to itch uncomfortably.
"I also know him."

Perry Reed responded indifferently, his calm speech carrying a hint of a chill.
Flossie furrowed her brow, about to say something but was cut off by Perry Reed -
"Shut up, play your role as a patient."
Always have to have the last word, don’t you?
Flossie clenched her fist, then let it relax.
I’ll let it go.
Anyway, Perry Reed never committed any crimes in our home country. Even if Glenn Hutchinson knew about the things he did abroad, there’d be nothing he could do. The two of them probably won’t cause a stir.
