The passionate new soldier immediately calmed down.
He looked somewhat taken aback.
The others also fell silent, puzzled.
Did that mean... they had already been up there and then came back down?
But what were the two of them doing on the first floor?
On the other side.
Flossie Wright and Belinda Nichols entered.
The lights in the first-floor corridor were all on, but the sporadic sound of gunfire hinted at the fierce firefight inside.

Perhaps after the initial exchange, the veteran soldiers assumed that the new soldiers had taken action, leaving the entrance unguarded.
Soon after entering, the two exchanged a glance and swiftly spread out, silently sliding along the walls towards the inside.
Their movements were so light that the only trace they left was a faint current of air; their presence barely perceptible until they were close to others.
Without communicating, they met and killed every obstacle in front of them, using daggers to efficiently dispatch all of those who stood in their way. Even if the victims were warned of their impending sacrifice, there was not enough time to react. When they finally realized, it was already too late.
In just two minutes, Flossie Wright and Belinda Nichols cleared the obstacles in front of them while scouting through the first-floor office. They occasionally encountered veterans lurking in rooms, but all were handled with their neat techniques.
They kept their noise to a minimum.
But they were still discovered...
At a corner, they rounded the bend and came face-to-face with three veteran soldiers doing the same.
Instantly, Flossie Wright’s brow furrowed.
The distance was too great to take them down before they could open fire!
"Damn, found them!"
At the same time, one of the veterans who bumped into them cursed under his breath and without hesitation raised his gun to fire at them.
"Bang, bang, bang——"
In a flash, Flossie Wright signaled Belinda Nichols—
A hail of bullets suddenly filled the corridor with no room for escape.
Flossie Wright retreated a couple of steps, then harshly slid back on the smooth floor, sliding into a straight line alongside the wall.
Seeing this, the veteran who was frustrated on the fifth floor, took careful aim at her, pulling the trigger continuously.
Yet, in that fleeting moment, Flossie Wright leaped away like a cheetah, vanishing into another corridor.
The whole sequence happened within seconds, and the veterans didn’t even get to fire half their bullets.
The veteran’s eyes twitched. Confirming no smoke in sight, his rough and agitated voice echoed—
"Damn it! Chase them!"
No sooner had he spoken than he rushed forward.
The two veterans left behind stopped firing, exchanged a helpless glance, sighed regretfully, and followed.
With all those guns, not a single target was taken down; how embarrassing...
Flossie Wright and Belinda Nichols were running in the corridor at an incredible speed, the slow-moving veterans were quickly left far behind.
However, as they once again rounded a corner, they suddenly faced two figures. A quick scan and both almost cursed inwardly.
Damn, more veterans!
